Gardens and their Gardeners

After my first garden collaboration, I began to explore the diversity of gardens, and the diversity of relationships between gardeners and their gardens. This opened up new dialogues and larger horizons. It is amazing to discover people through their garden, and to understand their garden as a mirror of their own life. No matter the diversity of garden forms and people’s approaches to the land, I often encountered the same social processes at work. Gardens are as unique as fingerprints, but I sensed that all

gardeners strive to create a comfortable space where they can be themselves, and mark their ground on the planet. They are also mirrors of human consciousness as well as social community.

By working with a range of people in their gardens, and trying to understand their needs and social aspirations, I am continuously learning how to find my place in the world; how to express my identity. I discovered a passion for connecting: people to their gardens, and people to each other through their gardens.

What is a garden for you?

What is your relationship with your garden, or with gardens in your life?
